Meribel - base 1449 m · 1449 m

Méribel sits within the linked Les 3 Vallées area, but its different bases should not be treated as interchangeable forecast points. Méribel Centre is around 1,450 m, while Mottaret starts around 1,750 m. The Altiport’s forest trails give the resort a different setting from the high, open terrain shown in many mountain webcams.

Our default elevation of 1,449 m is a useful reference for the lower centre. For a stay in Mottaret, select your actual location and elevation instead of assuming the Centre forecast applies unchanged. A difference of a few hundred metres can matter when temperatures are close to freezing, particularly during overnight precipitation or a daytime thaw.

Before choosing a longer route, read the forecast as a sequence: overnight snowfall, the temperature at lift opening, and the conditions expected on the way back. Compare both models at those times rather than choosing whichever gives the larger daily snow total. For families using a particular learning area, a nearby camera and the operator’s piste information add context that a forecast for the wider valley cannot provide.
