Information used to provide the website

When you request a page, our servers receive information such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL and request time. This information supports delivery, troubleshooting and protection of the service. Forecast URLs can contain the coordinates and elevation you select. These locations are used to retrieve the requested forecast; a selected location does not necessarily identify where you live.

To improve place search and diagnose problems, we record search terms, selected results, search times and IP addresses for up to 30 days. When you are signed in, these records can be associated with your account. The protected administration page can show an approximate country derived locally from the IP address. Search history is available only to authorised administrators and is not sent to advertising services.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include, and use it to respond to your request.

Weather Audio Alerts accounts

Saved location names, coordinates, altitude and audio alert preferences are stored privately for your account and available to site administrators. Deleting a location deletes its settings. Place searches are sent to Photon (Komoot), and terrain elevation lookups to Open Topo Data. Map tiles are supplied by OpenTopoMap. Only submit place or street information to search, without names or other personal details. Search results may be cached temporarily on the server; your account email and saved location name are not sent to these providers.

If you enable browser notifications, we store your browser push address, encryption keys and delivery status, linked privately to your account. Messages are encrypted and sent through your browser provider (such as Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft). Notifications can show your saved location name and forecast on the lock screen. You can disable this browser in the dashboard or revoke permission in browser settings. Signing out disables the registered subscription unless you explicitly choose to keep notifications enabled on a personal device. A secure HTTP-only device cookie links that browser to its subscription; signing in as another account revokes the previous subscription. This cookie does not sign you in. No phone number is collected for push notifications. Provider acceptance does not confirm that a notification was displayed or read.

If you create a weather audio alerts account, we store your email address, a one-way password hash, preferred notification language, account status and account timestamps to provide and protect your account. Your email address is not displayed publicly. You may also sign in with Google. We receive your Google account identifier, email address and, when available, profile photo URL. We store the identifier to recognize your account and display your photo in your signed-in account header and the protected administrator account list. Your browser loads the photo from Google without sending the page URL as a referrer; we do not store Google access tokens. Existing accounts must explicitly link Google while signed in. Google-verified Gmail and managed Workspace addresses satisfy email verification; other addresses require our confirmation email. We send a confirmation link that expires after 24 hours; only its hash is stored in the account database. Self-service password recovery is not yet available. Google reCAPTCHA protects registration and processes browser information under Google’s privacy policy. Contact info@snowreport.gr about account access or deletion.

If you enable email notifications for a location, weather alerts are sent to your verified account email through our mail server. They follow your selected notification interval and allowed hours. Disable Email notifications in that location’s dashboard settings to stop them. Delivery attempt records are retained for up to 30 days; mail-server acceptance does not guarantee inbox delivery.

The essential __Host-srm_account session cookie keeps you signed in on this website. It is limited to this host and uses secure, HTTP-only settings. Short-lived sessions are renewed using a separate secure, HTTP-only __Host-srm_remember cookie for up to 30 days after sign-in, including across browser restarts. Only a hash of its random credential is stored on our server. Signing out revokes this browser credential and ends the authenticated session. Account deletion or authentication-version changes invalidate remembered access. Sign out on shared devices. Account records are retained while the account exists; abuse-prevention counters expire automatically and do not store raw email addresses or IP addresses.

Cookies and saved preferences

If you choose a resort as your homepage, the first-party snowreport_home cookie remembers that choice for up to one year. You can reset your homepage using the site controls or remove the cookie in your browser. Consent providers may also store your privacy choices so they can be respected on later visits.

Google advertising

We use Google AdSense to request advertising. Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and, where permitted by your choices, personalize advertising based on visits to this and other websites. Third parties may place and read cookies in your browser or use web beacons to collect information in connection with advertising on this website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand use of our pages and improve the website. Its advertising and analytics storage consent defaults are set to denied until updated by the consent service. With denied storage, Google tags can still send limited, cookieless measurement signals. See Google's privacy policy for details about Google's processing.

Maps, cameras and external services

Maps, terrain lookups, externally hosted images, fonts, scripts and webcam players can connect your browser to third-party services. These providers receive connection information, including your IP address, and may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Webcam sources vary by resort and include services such as YouTube, Panomax, Roundshot, Feratel and resort camera operators. Some previews and embedded resources load when the page is opened; other players load when you select them. Camera source links identify the relevant provider.

Your privacy choices

Open advertising privacy settings to review or withdraw choices when Google's consent message is available. If the settings panel does not open, the consent service may be unavailable or not offered for your visit. You can still manage or delete cookies through your browser, use Google's advertising controls above, or contact us. Browser settings may affect saved preferences and embedded services.

Where consent is requested, you can decline or change it. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal data, object to processing, or request restrictions. Contact us at info@snowreport.gr. Retention and international services

Retention depends on the information and service involved. You can remove browser cookies using browser controls; third-party retention and international processing are described in those providers' policies.
