Cette fiche concerne la montagne Snowmass, l’une des quatre regroupées sous le nom Aspen Snowmass. Elle associe pistes préparées et espaces familiaux à des secteurs plus raides comme le Cirque. Le village de départ et les installations d’Elk Camp offrent aussi des possibilités aux groupes qui ne passent pas toute la journée à skis.
Distinguer Snowmass de la destination globale Aspen Snowmass compte pour un rendez-vous comme pour la lecture d’un bulletin. Une webcam, une ouverture de remontée ou un relevé de neige à Aspen Mountain ne décrit pas automatiquement Snowmass. Identifiez d’abord la montagne, puis le secteur prévu.
Notre référence basse est à 2 474 m. Pour le terrain supérieur, choisissez une altitude correspondante au lieu d’appliquer partout la température du pied des pistes. Pour une journée en famille, vérifiez les heures de départ et de retour : le moment le plus chaud ou le plus froid ne coïncide pas forcément avec les précipitations. Complétez la comparaison des modèles par le bulletin officiel des pistes et du damage.
