Kitzbühel is one of the starting points for KitzSki, whose ski region also includes Kirchberg and Mittersill. The official piste map is the best starting point for choosing a sector rather than assuming that every route begins in Kitzbühel itself. The operator also provides dedicated information on family skiing and practice areas.
This forecast opens at 779 m. It is a lower-elevation reference, not a summit forecast. When the freezing level is above this point, rain at the selected location can coincide with snow higher on the mountain. Check a forecast at your intended skiing elevation before interpreting a low or zero snowfall total as a lack of snow throughout the ski area.
For a useful comparison, keep the elevation and forecast hours the same when switching between GFS and ECMWF. After fresh snow, a rise in temperature can be just as relevant as another small snowfall amount. Use the weather graphs to follow that sequence, and consult the official piste and lift status for actual operation. Season dates and open terrain should not be inferred from a generic resort description.
