Ο υετός είναι το συνολικό ισοδύναμο νερού ανά διάστημα, μαζί με το χιόνι. Η χιονόπτωση αφορά νέο χιόνι ανά διάστημα, όχι το ύψος του χιονιού στο έδαφος.
