Kalavrita Ski Area — ski area. Snow Report archive photo. SourceKalavrita Ski Resort is one of Greece's most popular and well-equipped winter sports destinations. Located on Mount Helmos (Chelmos) in the northern Peloponnese, approximately 14 km from the historic town of Kalavrita and 203 km from Athens, the resort offers spectacular mountain scenery and views towards the Gulf of Corinth.
The ski area extends from approximately 1,700 to 2,340 metres above sea level, with 8 lifts and 14 ski runs covering around 25 km. It caters to beginners, intermediate skiers and experienced enthusiasts, with dedicated facilities for snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
Since opening in 1988, the resort has played an important role in the development of winter tourism in the region. Facilities include equipment rental, ski schools, spacious parking areas, first aid services, mountain chalets and cafés.
In recent years, Kalavrita has undergone significant modernisation, including the introduction of a 10-person gondola on the Achilleas lift and a six-person chairlift on Styga. Further improvements during the 2025–2026 winter season included new advanced ski runs, an upgraded snowpark and additional mountain hospitality facilities.
With its combination of modern infrastructure, varied terrain and beautiful alpine landscapes, Kalavrita remains a leading destination for skiing, snowboarding and mountain activities in Greece.
