Chamonix is the ski resort located at the foot of Mont Blanc (4,810 m), in the centre of the French Alps and very close to Switzerland. It is known worldwide for its alpine history as it is surrounded by the highest peaks in Europe, which causes its ski slopes to have a great unevenness.
